Treatment of myositis 

As yet there is no cure for myositis but symptoms can be controlled in some cases.

Medication, Exercise, Nutrition, Stress reduction and Rest.

Appropriate exercise overseen by a physiotherapist is always recommended


Corticosteroids / Steroid tablets: Prednisone

Immunosuppressants: Methotrexate and Azathioprine

Infusions of immunoglobulins: antibodies that suppress the immune system.  

Infusions are usually at monthly or 3-monthly intervals.

Intravenous immune globulin (IVIG):
